Hood hinge - body side
« on: August 23, 2013, 11:04:55 »
I didn't  receive much response to my first question on tis subject, so let me reword and try one more time.
The hinges for the hood are comprised of two parts: a male bracket with a pin for rotation mounted to the body, and a female bracket that mounts to the hood with two #10 hex head bolts.

My questions is: can the male bracket mounted to the body be adjusted up and down or is it mounted to a fixed plate? I know that the female side has adjustment designed in, but it is harder to tell about the body bracket by visual inspection.

Thank you.

Hi, Lin,

If you loosen the two mounting bolts that hold the male bracket, it will allow a bit of movement to adjust the bonnet height.
There is a rectangular metal plate in the wheel arch which holds the two bolts, so if you just loosen them enough to get an adjustment, you should be fine.
