On the Pininfarina Pagoda
« on: November 07, 2013, 17:20:36 »
I am writing a historical story about it. I haven't read much owner history before Weston Hook other than the German publishing executive, Mr. Springer. Was there ever a time when this car sold through a classified ad for an "oprdinary" amount , back when  its historical importance was not realized yet? I have seen the car in black and in red and in silver, I was wondering what the original color was or did Mercedes change it once when they were still showing it?
\Incidentally found on a Pininfarina site a picture of a "sister" car, a huge Mercedes sedan by Pininfarina which I did not know of before, now I can't find that site again but it bears certain resemblance to the 230SL based car.

There are many articles out there describing its history, before Weston Hook.
Can you tell us for whom you are writing the article?
If you want to publish it in our Pagoda World magazine I bet you'll get a lot of information and help here!  ;)

Car was silver when built/delivered in 1963. The Hjeltness resto brought it back to this finish, after being black and red.
This webpage has some info and the last picture, with a woman wearing a red coat, is period and shows the car in original silver

If you hit the link below it will direct you to another recent post of a person that says he owns the Pininfarina version Pagoda.
Is there a better source than that? ;)
