Trunk Liner Panel
« on: March 01, 2015, 08:35:24 »
Hi all,

The left hand side trunk (boot) liner panel is missing on my 280.

I have found new one for sale for (genuine Mercedes) for $180 plus shipping (probably another $70).

Has anyone made their own and if so is it very difficult to do and what are the materials (I assume I could borrow someone's and use as a template) or should I just bite the bullet and spend US$250?

Thoughts of anyone

regards
mark

Hi mark

I had some dark gray non-flammable thermal insulation foam sheet 1/2", in the garage,

so I made my own , it also then protects the panel from internal damage.

I made a template from newspaper, as there are a few cabled to be accomadated,
I stuck the foam on with double sided carpet tape.

Minimal cost.

Good luck

I was searching for seat pads and ran across this item --- not 100% sure if this is the trunk panel you are looking for -- but it's described as a left side trunk panel for w113 --- 24 euros -- again, not sure if this is the same.

Hi Eric,

I searched their site and could not locate them.

What sub-grouping are they located under?

cheers

Hello Mark,
Have a look at 68b item 75, they are in stock a little pricey, if I were you I would get some hard board and make them myself.

I have 2 new ones in the Garage at home still in the package.
When i return from work this evening i shall take many photographs and do 2 templates on A3 paper.
If i include all dimensional measurements , openings and cut outs im thinking they can be printed A3 and you can make a set.
Give me a few hours.

Hi Mark

Should be easy from these templates.
Get 4 sheets of A3 and mark out the cardinal points as per ...
Leather effect card is the same as on many ring type files.
Fully covered in foam on the reverse.
Best of look.
