I'm trying to find what fuse I need to change  (or check out)  for side marker lights on my 1971 280SL.  I,  unfortunately,  just have a reproduction owner's manual, and it does not list side marker lights anywhere.  ???   My side marker lights are not working, all of a sudden, and I thought I'd try to change the fuse, but not sure what fuse, (or fuses) to change.   The side marker lights need to turn on to pass inspection…. THANK YOU for anybody who can help me.   The car lives in Vermont, USA

The fuse for the illuminated side marker lights (if car was equipped with these) is in a separate, small --- matchbox size -- fuse box located directly across the main fuse box.   This is right next to the brake booster on a Left hand Drive car..  I have read that this box is sometimes located next to the washer bottle, so look around if its not right behind the booster.

Here's a photo of the fuse box with cover on and cover off.    The wiring diagrams below will also help for future electrical items.
