Hello,
I'm interested in having a car inspected by one of these 3rd party inspection services. A local acquaintance is related to a Corvette restorer and they said they've used a company called Auto Inspections on a couple of occasions with good results in the past.
I was looking for feedback from other members to see if anyone else has used a company that provides these services and what experience and advice is there to keep in mind.
Any recommendations on specific companies to use?

Best to use an inspector familiar with the specific model of car especially if correctness is important...anyone can see if a door doesn't fit but not everyone will know if the fenders or other parts are original...and it takes some experience to know all the rust hiding places on these cars.
I believe commercial inspectors know Corvettes and Mustangs more than they know Pagodas.
If I were going to buy a car and was not able to see it myself, I'd try to contact a knowledgeable member of these forums if available. I trust their judgement more than a commercial inspector.
Just my opinion.

I've got to think a decent 3rd party inspection outfit could do the job, provided you made it clear what areas were important to check. My understanding is that these guys are generally pretty picky since they're paid to be critical.
