Spotted two Pagoda's at the Hardenberg Classic rally which I navigated on Saturday. We finished equal 8/9/10th place and I have a trophy to show for it. The white car was recently purchased by the owner (about 3 months ago) and he's been battling with it (the cylinder head, blown gaskets etc) and has only driven it 200km's prior to participating in the rally. He's been on this site, but I believe anonymously.
The Silver 280SL is owned by this rally's "Master of the Course" and was driven by his daughters. At some point we spotted them by the side of the road with the hood up... overheating they said. They did not finish the rally. I'll alert him to this site, now that I know he's got one!
Now a trivia question for car buffs: what is the white car directly behind the silver Pagoda?

Looks like a Pina Farina body and thus either a Fiat 130 coupe but I have not seen one with quad head lights? so maybe the Fiat Dino 2.4

Pininfarina is right... but no cigar!

FIAT 124 derivative, either 1600 or 1800 engine, also made by SEAT?
-
Nope... 2000cc engine... not a FIAT

Cannot help myself, it is so Fiat like that I think it is their subsiduary company Lancia, a Lancia 2000 Coupe 1971 - 74
Do I get a cigar?

Close enough: a 1970 Lancia Flavia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lancia_Flavia) 2000 Coupe (http://www.motorbase.com/vehicle/by-id/621/). 6971 produced between 1969 and 1973. Quite a rare car, probably never seen by our US based friends. You'll get your beer at the PUB!

Doh! Just what I was going to say ;D
Did someone say Beer and PUB?

In 1979, just after having earned my driver's license (at age 19), I almost bought one of these Lancia's. Its engine was not running, otherwise it was in very fine condition - silver grey metallic. The owner wanted HFL 600 for it (about US$ 400) and I passed on it. Always wondered whether that was the right choice ...
