Title: Will these wheels fit??
Post by: rb6667 on June 07, 2009, 21:54:40
I have a 68 280 SL.  The spare tire in the trunk has a bent riim.   Will the steel wheels off of a 74/75 240 D fit this car? They are 14" just like the SL....but will they bolt up and clear everything?  Lug pattern the same?

Will it accept the full wheel cover?

Thanks in advance.

I believe they should fit just fine. The one-piece hubcaps will also work (the two-piece hubcaps require extra pins for the center hubcap piece).

Thank You very much.  Are there any other parts I should look at on this car that fit our 113's?  I think this is a 115 sedan.

I can take what I want.

Hello,

Yes Waqas is correct on the wheels. Some W115 versions are 5 1/2" wide and others are 6" wide. Either should work. As far as other parts, not much on this model.  Some electrical relays, interior window crank handles, some tool kit tools, rear brake calipers and rotors, original Becker radio, possibly the front two speakers, early versions used the same steering wheel and pad, front and rear side marker lights, full wheel covers, in many cases are the same.

Thank You Wagas and Joe,

I got the wheel.  It's a 5 1/2" wheel.  Also got the side markers.  They do appear to be the same.  Also got several linkage items off of the engine.  Don't know if I will need them, but I have them now.

The ignition switch bezel also looks to be the same....so it got that too!!

Thanks for the info.
