Title: She Won't Start!

Beautiful day in London, be good to go for a little Italian tune up. ;D

She Won't Start! :-\

When I turn the key I can hear a rather loud, fast ticking noise coming from the engine !! [ Tick Tick Tick Tick ]
Plenty of petrol, battery not flat, all electrics are working.

Please advise. :-[

Just went thrugh the same thing.  Do the wipers work, does the horn blow, do the turn signals work?  Is the red light on before starting?  Is the ticking when the key is turned all the way to the right?  If yes to all it is probably the battery.  If the light is not on it could be the alternator.  Bad wires?  I would first charge the Battery.

Sounds like it may be the starter solenoid

Hello,

My first guess would be the battery also. Turn the headlights on also. If they go out or dim a lot when you turn the key, the battery is dead or you have a bad battery connection.

She Started  ;D

Thankyou guys ....... It was the battery, I jump started her with our ML & up she got 'Vroom 'Vroom and said " Let's go for a drive " ;)
