Title: Location of VIN on 250SL EURO's

Question for the group... I have looked at 2 EURO 250SL's recently, and there wasn't a vin plate on either car loctated on the lower section of the A pillar just above the lower hinge attachment, or on the rear door jam.  There is a VIN plate under the hood on the firewall.

Do 250SL EURO's have a different vin plate location on the doors?  It may be that these 2 vehicles are just missing the VIN plates. ???

I have a 250SL Euro, and the only VIN location I recall is under the hood.  It's in storage at the moment but I'll check it next week.  How early is yours?  Mine is 2686.

Vin is in the original location, under the hood on the firewall on my late Euro 250sl.

Thanks!  It looks like (based on a sample size of 4) that on the 250SL Euro, the only VIN data plate is under the hood, not the driver door jam - mystery solved! 

My 250SL is a US (not EURO), early - SN: 989, and on the model, the VIN dataplate was on the driver door, and under the hood, so I expected the same on the EURO - another piece of history!
