Interesting. I wonder if the mentioned modifications allow the seat to be used in a car with all the convertible mechanics in place. Seems to imply that in the text.

The seat is shown in a car with a top boot, not the California coupe. It appears to be an aftermarket kit to go inplace of the package shelf, not a seat from a California Coupe. Not sure what mods they are refering to unless it is from a very early 230.

So, what were the rear seating options for the 113?

A rear bench for the California?

I saw a "kinder" seat many years ago that basically looked like two boards covered in leather and mounted to one side of the rear shelf area.

my 230 has the sideways kinder seat. this was a factory option. I have once seen an SL with this rear bench and a soft top combination, but I realy dont think it was a factory option.

this seat is the actual califirnia coupe one that has been cut down to fit the regular model.
Thanks.
