I saw the earlier thread on the headrest grommet discussion, so I am not trying to beat a dead horse, but I am wondering if anyone has found a source for colored grommets. Since I am redoing my seats, now is the time to address the issue. I know they have been painted by some members, and I am wondering if the paint is holding up to the friction. My originals are in good shape, so I could just use them if necessary, but I woukld love to match their color to the rest of my now palomino interior.
Thanks!

Have you checked with GAHH or World Upholstery?

Hello Bernd,
If I may give you my recommendation: Keep the originals!
;)
There were (are) only three colors available for the original hearest grommets: brown (matching cognac), dark grey and light grey.
Different colors matching the (whatsoever) interior color are definitely not original and some sort of "over-restoration" preparing the car into something that looks like all-in-one-tone as on modern cars.
Keeping the original grommets here is a sign of correct and authentic restoration.
Just my 2 cents ...
Best,
Achim

Hallo Achim.
Was actually by now thinking along the same lines as well, i.e. to just keep them. Thanks for the input!

Are these available in original colors somewhere. I need brown. I checked with GAHH. They did not have these.
Thanks
