Title: Where does this wire go to?
Post by: saygold on May 28, 2010, 19:39:35
Getting close to starting my car, but I have one electrical wire in the engine compartment that I do not know where it connects to.  I used the search function without success.

The unidentified wire is yellow in color and appears to have a clear cover, and is a "medium" size diameter.   It runs from a black connection point on the right fender closest to the firewall.  It runs along the top of the right wheelwell, drops into the air cleaner well, and goes into the engine compartment near the generator.  The end of the wire  has a circular connector, and is near the rear of the generator.

I would appreciate a diagram of the generator with the electrical connection points.  Any recommendations as to what this wire is used for would be appreciated,

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hey Ken. On mine, that wire runs from the auxiliary fuse box to the B+ post on the alternator. I imagine it it what feeds constant power to that device -- generally the radio (in my case) or the electric antenna.
