Hi--
I came across this sill plate made of stainless steel as a substitute for the rubber mat.
Not stock, but about the same price as the rubber ones from SLS.

Maybe it's just me, but somehow those brushed stainless steel plate don't look right for a pagoda...

I wouldn't go that way, but they sure look practical (at least one part of my car wouldn't rust...)

I have the MB version on my ML. They looked great when new but have now lost their lustre. They secure with plastic snaps which are built-in to the ss sill and a couple have broken off on the front left. I would think that the Sl ss sills are secured with adhesive backing. I would stick to the originals.
