Title: fuel pump question

why does my fuel pump have a conection there with a T one to the tank and on towards the engine?

The one you have pictured here does not have the T fitting that is used with the latest versions of the 113. The T fitting is used to help prevent vapor lock in the fuel system. The fitting is not normally used when installing the newer, small style fuel punmp on the earlier 113's that were originally equipped with the large style, older fuel pump.

I have the same fuel pump as pictured.  I recently had to change it and my return gas line has a Y junction, one line going back into the fuel tank and the other connected to the outlet you have you arrow pointed at (next to the larger fuel line from the gas tank).  Is this OK?  ??? ???

Jordan,

My understanding is that the use of the tapped fitting is not needed with the 230SL. I don't think it hurts anything though to have it tee'd and I'd just leave as is.
