I am wishing to connect the fast idle solenoie and according to the tech manual there should be a mobulator valve on each side of the transmission. Mine however has only one on the right hand side. The wire attached to this passes over the top of the gear box and is not connected on the other side, there is also a green/red wire which I presume goes to the fast idle solenoie. Why does my car only have one valve and how do I get the solenoid to work?

Hello,
You should have a hot wire from fuse #5 going directly to the solenoid. It is energized anytime the ignition is on.
The pressure switches supply the "earth" ground (negative) to the solenoid whenever the transmission is in a drive gear or reverse.
The reason you only have one is, someone left one off ! Just hook up one for forward gears for now and run a positive line to the solenoid if you are missing it also.
