Title: How to you seal electrical conectors at fuel pump?

 all my problems are from the fuel pump
What can I use to seal the electric conector  from the fuel pump?
There is gas leaking from there.

Erick,

1)  Ensure you have the fuel pump cage--that keeps the debris and dirt away.
2)  Clean all the connectors and fittings.  Do not just crimp connectors, but solder them as well.
3)  When you have it all together and working properly, put a blob of dielectric grease on the fittings.  You can get this at an electrical supply house, and electronic store, or Grainger, or even Amazon:

I need to know if you have one of the smaller, new style pumps or the older, tall style. The cause of gas leakage through the terminals in either case is a faulty seal. In the case of the smaller pump, it is one of the small o-rings behind the red/brown plastic terminal strip. The stock o-ring has a square cross section but you should be able to successfully seal it with round cross section o-ring of suitable size and some gas resistant Seal-All if you can't find a sq cross section ring. If you have the tall style pump, you will need to disassemble the pump and do some work on the main bellows seal since you have gas seeping by the seal into the motor section. The new style pump is designed to operate with fuel in the motor can, the old style is not. Hope this helps.

Thank you!!! To the square profile "o" ring comment....I've been treated like I was nuts and told they were round and got squished flat...the bottom "o" ring is no longer available btw for the old style pump...the part number refers forward in the computer systems to the new style "o" ring which doesn't fit.

You should be able to order metric size nitrile o-rings from a number of different sources that will fit the bottom plate of either pump.

Erick--I did not understand your problem.  I though you had an electrical issue.  Dielectric grease will not help you with a fuel leak, just in keeping the integrity of the electrical connections.

smallparts.com is a good source for, well, small parts including o-rings.  Nitrile is the operative word, you probably do not want Buna which is more common.

Eric,

I got you email. You will need to get these two small seals from a local source. As Micheal said--make sure they are nitrile. No doubt you will only find the round cross section ones whcih I would recommend installing with some Seal All. That should solve your problem.
