I just got my 69 280SL back from the paintshop and boy does it look good. Dark Green w/ Cognac. Now begins the fun part , installing all the shiny new bits that have been coming for the last couple months. I'm doing all the reassembling so I will be asking lots of dumb questions for awhile. The new weatherstripping for the doors at the front has five holes and corresponding holes in the door. Are these screwed or riveted? The old seal was removed by the bodyshop and it has 7/16 metal spacers in each hole, but the fasteners are gone. Are these to keep the fasteners from compressing the seal in this area? The passenger side has none but may have been lost. Cutting a piece of brake line into sections should do nicely. Sound familiar? Any thoughts?
Thanks, Eric

The weather striping is screwed in at the front of the door. There is a metal chanel that follows the contour of door that goes over the weatherstripping in this area.

Thanks John, that's very helpful, after searching through the bag marked "door parts" I can now add those trim pieces onto my list of missing parts :(
