Someone can post Janis Joplin, but this is the driving song that makes the rounds here in Ireland for the last couple of years.

I know, it's not even about a car...BTW, Christy probably has a bigger fan base in Ireland than Bono or Sinead., and the local Honda 50 club is huge.

I remember the first time I heard '' Red Barchetta '' by the band Rush. It definately raised the bar for songs about cars.
 Queen had a song called '' I'm in love with my car'' which is also from the same time era and is also well written.
An old song called '' Six days on the Road '' is more about truck drivers but it's one I still like.

Evening drives in the sumer on the lake road from Geneva to Lausanne, roof down, and Ray Charles for company. Thats my driving music.

I was on my way to a morning exercise class recently, and had decided to change in advance at home, and put my heart monitor on.  My normal resting heart rate is about 70...
Then Deep Purple's Highway Star came on...http://youtu.be/ubMQtQIbELs
When I glanced down at my heart rate, it had jumped up to over 100!
(I think that's best as muscle car music... ;))
