Title: Mercedes $10 million auction
Post by: glenn on July 27, 2012, 01:39:38
Goodings is auctioning Baroness von Krieger's 540K at Monterey in August. ..   $10,000,000 range is expected. ..   Be there or be nowhere!!!

Would you let your Pagoda go for 1/100 of that??. ..  200 Pagodas for a 540K???

I was at Pebble Beach and the green 1970 pagoda that was restored by the Classic Center apparently sold for $250K. The Von Krieger car was expected to get $18MM but I heard that it sold for $14MM but there is no sale reported on the Gooding s site that auctioned the car.

In fact, the car - 1936 Mercedes-Benz 540 K Special Roadster sold for a mere $11,770,000. Still well above any of our Pagodas, but well below the expected 14-15 mln US$.

Now, considering that an average Pagoda commands in the range of 40000 US$, this would make how many...? ::)

Still I would stick to mine...    :D

$250K for a Pagoda? Is that a world record?

That car has been for sale for years and years.  Eventually the prices may catch up with his asking price. ha

I understand the Classic Center sold a Pagoda at Pebble for over $200K...
