Here is a little video of our Daughter getting her 230 SL...she loves the car and wanted a White with Red interior and automatic ...we bought the one on ebay recently that had a 280 SL engine...the Car is in really good shape, I know, I took a chance not looking at it first, but what the heck....She is in charge of keeping it up and she has to buy if from me when she graduates Law school......or I put back on Ebay :D :D.....The only issue we have is that it needs door seals. I paid less than the reserve, since it didn't meet the reserve price, but probably a tad more than I wanted to spend, but she wanted White w/Red int...so I was kind of stuck....:D. I guess I'm helping to start the "next Generation" on taking care of old cars....She just loves the thing :D......It won't be a daily driver though, just for nice days.........
She already Broke down though...she called me, "DAD!, the just died...I'm in the turning Lane...What should I do"?........Ummm, do you have GAS???.........Long Pause...I think I'm out of Gas :D:D......OK, I'll be there in 5 minutes :D:D....Her first lesson, always check your fuel :D

Nice!

Great, must make sure my son does'nt see that, he only got an Astra!! ;D
-
This is a great reminder of the happiness these cars create, and of the very narrow importance of having the exact right screws and washers just as the car came off the assembly line.
-
Lucky girl indeed.
-
So, is she married? ( no, not for me ) I have a nephew that............
-
Phantastic. Really nice both car and daughter. (or daughter and car)
-
We expect Summer to join this group soon...
-
Fabulous, thanks for sharing the video. She is indeed a very lucky girl. Glad to to see the stewardship being extended.

WAY Cool. So nice to see a Gen Y in love with such a beautiful car.
Sadly, on the rare occasions when I surprisingly pick up my 14 year old daughter in the Pagoda, I usually get a "Why did you bring THAT car? I HATE that car!"
Happy to see that Summer "sees the light"...best of luck to her and you with the new car!

I've now merged both threads into one....

That video is awsome - I've been pulling people into my office to show it off. Its just so cool to see those arms flapping around as she hops around the car.
Michael, tell your daughter that up here in Canada 14 yr girls absolutely love my car. My 14 yr old daughter giggles everytime she get in it. We drove around and went for icecream on the weekend and she found a bench that we could sit on to eat our ice cream and look at my pagoda. I gave her a ride to high school this morning and asked if she wanted me to drop her off a block away - nope - she had me drop her off in the loading zone at the front door in plain view of all her friends.
Gotta love that.

Thanks for merging the thread. I thought y'all might get a kick putt of the video :D. I love how she runs right by my Ferrari, and goes straight for the Pagoda :D :D. She fell in love with one, after seeing one on back of a car carrier on the hiway. She asked what year that was. I told her I drove my fathers 71 280 SL for a month once. She said, that is the perfect convertible, all this time I've just been looking at the Wrong Years :D.
I didn't really mind getting a classic, since they hold there value, and she has been helping a lot with her mom with her broken leg and arm, so I thought, what the heck, why not get it while I'm still young enough to enjoy it with her. Some of our neighbors may think I'm nuts, but I know Y'all understand :D :D

I wish my eldest daughter was half as enthusiastic, at 15 she will only go near the car in the dark, with full body armour to conceal her identity, my 13 yr old however, loves the car!
how the years and seasons differ.
Lucky Summer
