...car called Gentle Pagoda….
The link below points out to a very interesting Vilner's act of Pagoda modification (restoration?).

While Pagoda purists shout abstain, one has to recognize the design and ideas in this achievement.
I call it exercise of style.

Lot of good workmanship in to it, but somehow it looks contrived & way over the top perhaps on an old E type Jaguar this look will be more fitting!
-
While I tend to agree it is a tad over the top, it is an excellent execution of a vision.
As to the purists amongst us, here is something to consider in contrast.
Which would we rather have is the question.

Here is one for sale in Australia (250SL asking $60k) where the owner wanted the interior to match the red exterior by adding lots of red piping. Has stitched leather dash and steering covers and changed the console as well.

Holly Crap
I can see the Long Island lady behind this one with a heavy NY accent say "Isn't it gorgeous"? :D

Guys,
You should stop posting pictures like the shocking pink inerior one.
Many Brits think the Americans are crass and loud, whilst I know this not to be true, you do yourselves no favours.
:D
Mark.

Americans are crass and loud
Isn't that what make us Great? ;)

It both makes me want to vomit AND get another Café Latte at the same time...

Reminds me a few years ago I was in Scotland on a distillery tour. I was at the opening night reception talking to one of our tour guides, a cute young lass, about the various customs and traditions they must be aware of when they host people from all over the world. When to bow with the Japanese, etc.
I then asked her what they tell them to do when the Americans come over.
With a twinkle in her eye, she said "They tell us to just try to survive".

I can notice that at least the Pagoda guys are sensitive to aesthetic aspects of their cars. Great to see that these "extreme" renovations create such emotions.
Should we create a special thread, like: "strange, amazing and ugly"?
-
I especially like the quote:
For anyone looking to make a serious statement and still drive a desirable and collectible car in terrific cosmetic and mechanical shape, this car would be an excellent choice.
If you look like this you might consider it a "serious statement", I presume.

is it a slightly "renovated" Nicky Minage???
Probably, not the best example of restoration, but looks as if there was some consistency effort there ;D ;D ;D
