Does anyone know where i can buy the black plastic cover that snaps on over the shocks in the engine bay - somehow lost one

I bought a set on eBay. They come up from time to time. They have little metal clips that secure the black cover to the metal lip surrounding shock. Make sure those are present or you may lose one again.

Also Classic Center can order them.  I believe they are still in MB parts inventory, clips too.

To be clear, the top mounting points for the front shocks are nearby and have no provision for covering them (though maybe the sedans' rear covers might work for that if desired). 
I think the covers discussed here are actually for the Front Subframe Mounts nearby the shocks, which are ~5cm outboard and ~10cm above them -- near the fenderwall.   It gets complicated.    ;D
