Title: WRD problems
Post by: natenate on April 16, 2013, 19:35:52
Hi

I’m having trouble with my WRD. My car is running very rich and the WRD is over fuelling. I have tested it by taken the screw out the side and fuel is dripping out. I have had it out on two occasions, cleaned it but it is fine for a short time(a day) then goes back to previous problem. Has anyone got any ideas? Also someone told me that I maybe able to bypass it? Can this be done and is it advisable?

Your probably talking about the CSV (cold start valve) on the side of the intake manifold. The WRD (warm running device) is perched on top of the injection pump. The CSV is a known source of problems. Disconnecting the wire to the solenoid will not allow the valve to open in the future. But you need to stop the leak at the valve seat first. For now, maybe clean it again and disconnect the wire so the valve won't move.

Seems like you will have a hard time starting w/o it. New ones are available...for a price. You could get used parts and try your luck with that. Others may have ideas as well.

Hello natenate,

I think you are posting about your cold start valve (CSV )on your intake manifold. You can temporarily block the metal fuel  line going to it to see if your rich running improves.
