Title: Idle throttle switch

After removing of all the Emissions stuff on my 280-1970-manual i have a Question :

Is there any use for my Idle-throttleswitch left ?

Afaik it is necessary for regulating the automatics, not aware of a function for manual transmission cars like yours.

On the later automatic cars, the switch (the one on the manifold - correct?, the round device with the small plunger at one end?) is in place but not connected (which is the case on my 280 SL). It is used to regulate idle with an A/C installed.
