Title: pertronics rotor no fit
Post by: Dave on August 11, 2013, 01:30:17
I just installed 1864LA  unit and i cant get the rotor back on.  The magnet ring doesnt seem to slide down far enough to allow the rotor to go on top of it all the way.  Before i start butchering up anything does anyone have similar experience?

Dave, I had the same problem and broke the first magnet ring.
I called the company and they replaced it for me free of charg.
They mentioned that they have never had that problem before and to call before I try to install it again.
I call when the second one would not slide on easily.
The solution was to turn and push and if that does not work turn and push again.
It worked for me on the third try.

Thanks i will call them tomorrow morning.  I have been pushing by hand and with a socket and no go.  I think the hex side goes down?  I dont see anyother way.  Irritating.  And if you broke the the ring it must it a lot of pressure.

Visual guide for installation on similar model, FWIW. It appears as though hex side goes down.

Also take a look at Pagoda Notes Vol 3 No 4. There is an in depth discussion about the 123 install. With some follow up in Vol 4 No1.
