Hi Gents,
I got the same issue on my 1966 230SL RHD and now must be stuck in D no matter how I tried. It seems a bit loose with the gearlever.
Just wonder if I should order the same part or if the part number is different as my 230SL is a 1966 one.
Many thanks for your help
-
Hi,
Part number could be different, depends on production number. See here: www.sls-hh-shop.de/en/230-280SL-W113/27-Automatic-Gearbox/27-b-Automatic-Linkage-and-Connecting-Parts/

Hi WRe,
Thanks for your link. So I should buy 2 x no. 46 and 1 x no. 49 as per SLS diagram?

There is good information about this matter in this thread also:

Hi,
I think you need only 1 x 46 of these plastic bushings for your early 230 automatic or 1 x 45 for later models.
Please see links Hans provided.

Many thanks for your information. Since SLS-DE does not have stocks for this item, I have to get it through eBay but I am confused which item should I get
as they all look the same but with different part numbers

You have to figure out which bushing failed. this whole thread is about nr 48 in the SLS diagram, which they have in stock for €4. Don't buy those expensive ripp-offs from eBay. You should even be able to order the bushes from Mercedes Benz.
But you will first need to figure out what's really wrong with you gear lever.

Hi,
Bushing no. 46 should be available at MB for ~10 Euros. I just checked it at their portal for classic parts.

Thanks again WRe. I shall try at local MB.

I've split this topic from the original thread.

Thanks Peter for amending the name of the topic.
One more query on the linkage bushes. Are thes bushes to be used on both manual and auto transmission or they need different ones?
Apologize for asking silly question again.
-
Yes the bushings are very different. The critical ones on the automatic are the ones at each end of the shiftrod. There are many more bushings and plastic parts on the shifter that not as critical. Replace them all and save yourself the return trip later.
On the standards, the two at the transmission shift rod and the two at the ball of the shifter are most critical. Lots more minor bushings for the whole job.
-
So all parts listed below in the link are for manual transmission only?

Many thanks WRe. Actually, I think I need the following three items
but can't find it anywhere in my location.
Could someone kind enough to guide me to an On-Line store so that I could order and have them shipped internationally to my place?
Many thanks again
