I always think of the ISS traveling at 17,500 MPH and wish them well.
Here is my contribution to the WOW thread: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lc8BcBZ0tAI (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lc8BcBZ0tAI) You might have to click on the "skip" add after a few seconds.
Of course as Rolf says open the player in full screen and click the highest playback version you can get.

John
PS Send us some snow and rain please. I think you guys back east have more than your fair share. Sunshine and warm temps are nice for top down drives but we are going to get mighty thirsty out here come summer in the "Sahara" AKA California:-(

280SE Guy, Enjoyed the video immensely, have seen some clips pf it on the Canadian New. Thanks for sharing!
John, Loved the Drone clips ... at the end I clicked on the Golden Gate it took me back to 2010 when traveled along Route 66 and when I crossed the bridge in my BMW Z4 taking pictures as I drove across. I hope to do the same with my 280 SL soon.
To add to the tread ... and compliment the above .... Here's a cool animation. We think of the sun as stationary, but it's really hurtling around the galactic plane very quickly. What's interesting is the orbital plane of the planets is 119* off of the galactic plane. The second link has a short add in front of it, be patient and let it pass. See the second one in full screen.

Once you seen the above animation the next link is a great story about size of the planets. I don't agree with the end statement in this fine representation, I ;ike to think of what my Dad always said .... We are just little specks on this planet.

What are always fun are the Ken Block Gymkhana videos; do a search on Ken Block on YouTube and you'll find a bunch. His driving makes most auto racing look like a bunch of kids coming out of driver's ed, first hour.
Taking to the air, there are quite a few of the Red Bull Air Races out there; these are like Ken Block but with a plane…pulling 9G turns. Me? I get nausea just watching them.

Hi Dieter,
I can't resist an astronomy video, of course. There was a coordinated international outreach campaign in 2009 and they produced this as an introduction:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVJmZmo6kzI
Higher resolutions are available, but I couldn't find one on YouTube.
However, many outstanding astronomy videos include computer-generated graphics or enhanced colour processing, which I think disqualifies them as WOW experiences.
I honestly prefer the Earth-bound scenery videos, which I often see on HD shows like "Aerial America," "Canada: Coast to Coast," or "Magnifico Italia." But, with Michael, I don't much like some of the video editting techniques that they use these days. They give me a headache. Hard cuts after an image is shown for a fraction of a second might be fine for music videos, but I don't think it helps enjoyment of landscapes.

Hi James,
This us a great video (I saw it before) the passenger is James May (Captain Slow from Top Gear, he is a pilot, not to be confused with TopGun :)).

I love this one. I think MB should have used this to proove how safe an SL is even when the driver isn't. It appears to start with an over correction and a surprise ending. notice the top is ripped off.

360 degree video of a Mercedes F1 race car. As many have said before watch this in full screen, use your mouse (while you hold the left click button down) to pan left, right, up, and down. You can also use your mouse wheel to zoom in and out. Turn your speakers up and don't get too dizzy.
