Just a quick one please, a 1965 W111 Fintail with a M180 engine, 230 stamped on the cylinder head and carbs not injection, as per photo, are any parts of this engine compatible with a 230SL in any way? It is in a complete rotten car - what other bits will fit Pagoda models if any?
thanks Neil

Thanks John, not after anything in particular but have been offered the car and wondered if some parts were of use.

Ok, there are some interesting items. The horns are valuable if they are the originals (same as W113). The early inside window cranks are the same as 230SL and are NLA. The temperature gauge is valuable and virtually the same as a W113. The fuel sender can be used in a W113. The inside and outside mirror heads are W113. The engine crankshaft is the same as a 230SL, chain tensioner, steering gear box, rear diiff for the most part (230SL), front disc calipers (230SL), automatic transmission for the most part, standard transmission except top cover, some front suspension parts as mentioned. Possibly the camshaft and supports (250SL).
Is this a 230 (W110) or a 230S (W111) ?

Thanks Joe I will check the VIN and report back but believe it to be w111, tall headlamps and twin bumpers

"Tall headlamps and twin bumpers", it is a W111. The exterior door handles are the same as a single cut key W113, wiper arms also (possibly), heater control switch. Check the radio also.
