When I bought my 67 230SL, it came with added on A/C system, but without a condenser. Someone removed the condenser for some season. The A/C system is an aftermarket, perhaps a universal kit. Is anyone knows what size of condenser would fit between the radiator and the grill? If so, any suggested suppliers are appreciated.

You might try contacting Old Air Products in Fort Worth. It has been several years since I dealt with them but, at the time, they were knowledgeable and helpful and their prices were competitive. I bought a Sanden compressor and the adapter plate to mount it on the car. They were able to cut open the original drier and renew the insides.

If you search in R&D "condenser" I have the dimensions listed there and where I purchased mine. Also have a brand new parallel flow still in the box from American Condenser 16 X 18 which they said was a direct replacement for the 280, if interested. Parallel flow condenser is key if switching to R134.

Thank you for your input regarding the A/C condenser. Does American Condenser 16 X 18 fits 1967 230SL? Does it have mounting brackets made for this car? If so, how much would ask for it.

The factory kit used both a front condenser as well as a second condenser mounted inside the front bumper. There is an eBay seller which says he has NOS condensers which he has had for $190 to $230. There are also bumper condensers available via eBay by another seller. Buds Benz sells a condenser which he says has better performance for 134.
