Title: What year is this 108?

Car in question is a 280SEL 4.5  Production date of 7/72.   Could this be a late 72 model year, or an early 73?  What month did Mercedes usually begin producing autos for the next year?

It's a 1972.0

Production ended late in the year of 1972 and any cars left over/not sold after production ended were titled as 1973 models when they were sold. So a 1973 model is really a 1972 model.
