just found these pics of car conversions and asked myself how far pick-up (or UTE) lovers would go to get their cars to their liking?
The first two are Mercedes cars, while the next is a Porsche that is I think even more impressive

There's the Karl Middelhauve 600 pick-up creations, have you seen those? That's going pretty far. Me I enjoy Chevrolet's creation of the El Camino, a pick-up created out of sedan. Followed the Ford Ranchero example. Afterwards came the Subaru brat, Volkswagen had a go, and probably there've been others.

The interesting thing with Karl Middelhauve's 600 pick-ups is that they were designed by Paul Bracq, the original designer of the 600 (or at least he was part of the team). So, are they an heresy? Or, on the contrary, having been styled by the original designer, are they even more valuable than a stock 600 as they are unique pieces?
