Hi All,
I have just finished the body work on a long restoration to a 1964 230 SL Auto RHD. Next job is paint, and need to use a rotisserie ; particularly on the underside of the car.
I am sure some forum members have been through the process. Knowing where the true balance axis lies will help remove much guesswork and a poor result.
Can any members who have built a rotisserie with good results post pictures of the car in suspension showing the location of the pivot point at the front and rear of the car,or give some measurements in relation to the grille opening.
Any contributions much appreciated.

I tool would like any recommendations on rotisserie's. I am about to start my restoration and need to get a rotisserie soon.

Here's the one my body restorer used. I don't know how balanced it was. He used the bumper attachment points.

Hey Tom,
Thanks for your post. Looks like a serious piece of equipment, like the car will do what its told, regardless of equalibrium. Mine will be more modest and balance is important. It does however look like the axis is just below the top of the transmission tunnel. My thoughts are close to that. The rotation points on your example are away from the car, so difficult to locate in relation to the grille opening or trunk opening.
Idealy I'm looking for a pic showing the axis in perspective to the grille opening or trunk opening.
Your cars original colour was white, same as mine. T he new colour is dark blue as will be mine, but 904 in the acrylic laquer formula which has a red tone to it. Grey MB Tex interior.
