How many screws hold the center tray down -- is it 2 or 3?

I'm seeing two on mine but then again I've got that small box for the fader switch. Don't know what's under it. Sorry!

Mine also has just 2. Seems like more are needed...

My box is installed with two screens that go into two U-shape brackets not directly into the tunnel. I think these brackets are about four inches long. I installed a couple layers of dynamat around these brackets so that the carpet will lay flush on these brackets.

Two years ago I unscrewed the center tray for a paint job. It was hold by two screws. Unscrewing appeared more easy than screwing it back. The holes in the tunnel were very tight. It took some drops on my forehead to mount the tray.

Andy,
Can you measure the distance between the two holes, please?
Thanks.

The spacing distance I have is 9" between centers.
The position distance from the inside/rear is 4.25" and 13.25" , respectively.

Doug,
Bruce mentioned the brackets which are mounted onto the transmission tunnel. The holes you are trying to alighn with are in those brackets. It can be quite difficult to align them properly but, I developed a good technique. I found the holes in the clamps and put a nail into each. You can use the nails to position the center tray and drill any holes which may be required. Once the tray in in position with a nails through the holes, remove one nail and replace it with a screw. Repeat the process with the second screw. I hope this technique works for you.

I was actually too embarrassed to come out and say that I couldn't find the holes in the tunnel. Thanks for your insight, everyone. Amazing how even the simplest task ends up being so tricky, isn't it?

Andy,
Just for your info:
cm = .3937 " X 23cm = 9"
