Hello all,
I'm looking to buy a w113 and would like to find one with the rarest color combo. I really familar with the r107 and r129 as I have one, but I wanted to add a w113 to my collection. I have no clue as to what to look for yet as I'm searching for info. Any help was be appreciated. Thanks so much in advance.

Hi Carl
Have a look in technical manual.
There's a section titled "buying a car" in the contents.
Alternatively, try and find a local113 owner who may be able to show you around his car.
Happy hunting

The solid Black with Beige interior is a nice combination that seems to be quite rare. The common colours seem to be the Beiges and Whites (there are 4 or 5 of them, some very similar), signal Red is quite common, Silver and Dark Blue. There were a lot of colours though and some are fairly similar.
If you're after rarity, look at some of the options that are hard to find... the 5 speed manual option is extremely rare, only about 800 cars ordered with it.
Another option that is fairly rare is the kinder seat, which my car has. It's a sideways rear seat so the car is a 3 seater. This is not to be confused with the California option where you could lose the softop all together in exchange for a 2 passenger rear seat.
Check out these cars:

Thanks iftykhan and Pagoda_84, real helpful information. Black with Beige interior sounds nice. I seen in a photo, a red, more like a firemist red with tan interior. Have you guys seen this color?. If so, do you know the correct name for that exterior color I'm calling" firemist"?. Hope it wasn't a custom color. If I can find that pic, I'll post it here.

I found the pic. Does anyone know this exterior color, correct name ?. Thanks...

I would say that copper would be one of the very rare colors.
-
That photo looks really close to 501 H Orient Red.
-
Could also be "Glazing Maroon" - 567G which is also a 230SL/250SL colour (which is what the car in the photo is).
I agree that "Copper" would be one of the rarest exterior colours.
Two-tone Colours are also rare and my favourite (biased here).
The Pagoda at the Mercedes museum in Stuttgart has a particularly rare and interesting combination - it looks to be Gold in colour - perhaps 'Tunis Beige'? (462H) with a Blue Roof (and hubcaps). The blue looks to be metallic. Despite its annoying flaws it's still a beautiful car. (ever seen an ugly one?).
BTW- Trust the Germans to have such beautiful colours for these cars and such boring colour names. Take my cars for example - Most people admire the colour of my car and ask about the colour - I feel somewhat embarrassed when I reply with 'Grey Blue' and 'Dark Red' (even Dunkelrot sounds deadpan.)
If only they commissioned the Italians to name the Pagoda colours we would have "Grigio Azzurro" and "Rosso Scurro". .....Think of how many cars they would sell if an Attractive Saleswoman described those cars to you back in the swinging 60's! ;D ................sorry I digress

Thanks everyone for the help as I'm going soon to see a friend of a friend's benz who has one in orient red as this seems I think, to be the color in the photo I've posted.

How about the turquoise (112, 217) color interior? Can't be too many of those around.
Copper seems to be a good rare color (463)
And you can make more rare with options.

I believe that Colour is 571 Red same as mine which won the Pagoda cup 2weeks ago at the MB Flywheel show. Cup is held in the trophy room at MB World, also won its class at the MB National Concours the week earlier. Quite chuffed as it was the first time I have shown the car.

Here is a better engine bay picture

Liquid Silver,
Such a gorgous car and color. Thanks for sharing....

I have a 462/268 Tunis Beige / Dark Green and have never seen or heard of another of the same color combo.
-
John B's dark 906 blue with red interior is another rare and striking combination.
-
Make that DB 904 with red leather.

I cant comment on colour rarity as I am no expert there.
Mine is Black with red interior, and looks very attractive.
However, as one member suggested relating to rarity, if you find one with factory sliding roof top, that would also be quite rare.
Good luck with your quest.
