I have this molding I think is part of the soft top or hard top for 113 230sl can anyone confirm?

Have you got a better picture, maybe both sides and also something to indicate its size?

Hope this pictures a little better, I think it might a soft top molding that attaches to the back window or covers the seals?

Yes, I believe that piece is the leading edge of the soft top (#2 in the figure below).  Part # 113 770 03 10.
