Cory,
I replaced my tank with the Dansk reproduction suggested by kampala. Fit was perfect, and 1/3 the price of OEM from M-B. I'd go that route. I got the sticky backed foam from M-B classic center. See pics.

is it possible to inter change the fuel senders , the old type fuel senders whit the floating device on a stick are hard to get , the newer types can be bougd everywhere ??
these tanks are verry good in price ;)

I'm told the MB Classic center is selling the fuel senders for a reasonable price now. Have not confirmed this, but it was from a very reputable source. John

I purchased a MB fuel sender from Authentic Classics . com. I too used a Dansk fuel tank. same spec 1/3 cost is correct. Good Luck Bryan Hepper 1970 280SL Barrington ILL

The fuel senders do not interchange. You will need to change the gauge also.
A quick search will get you the detail information.
