Title: M130E engine head change early/late

Just found M-B factory change bulletin detailing change from early to late type engine head on the M130E [280 SL /8].
This was at Pagoda chassis No 113- 044- xx- 013 615

See chart attached for part No and cast ID No of engine heads

This means style of M130 engine head was changed in production in September 1969. The early and late type heads were not interchangeable.

Hello,

Take care that September 1969 is the switch date for engine prodution, my car is 496 and left the factory on oct 20th (with an early type head), so I guess that for cars the switch date is closer to November 1969.
(How many pagodas per day back then?)

Euro cars may of had a different date than the US spec cars.
