Post by: Rolf-Dieter ✝︎ on June 20, 2017, 15:55:16
SL Market News, you may have seen it before if not still an interesting read.

I concur with Jerry Seifelfd's thinking about our cars.

Good read.   You don't see a value for condition 6 cars too often in the price guide they link to.

We had a heck of a time coming up with a fair value when I bought my #5-6 car from my Dad in 2008.  Having parted out cars in the past (several BMW 2002s) my Dad and I finally settled on what we figured would be a parting out value (including shipping) and set the time to part it out at 6 months from Smithers BC.    After determining a value for the low hanging fruit (soft top, engine, the doors, trunk and damaged hood etc.) we had a value in mind.

My Dad still figured I was paying too much so he threw in a broken welder and a 1/2 tank of welding gas to even it out.
