Title: WRD Oval Shims

Anybody knows the part numbers for the WRD oval shims? Are they still available?
My engine runs too lean while warming up. I tried adding round shims but it just closed the air sooner without enriching it.

Check your barometric compensator. When bad it will cause the engine to run lean.  Injection pump rebuilders should have some oval shims. PM me if you cannot find some. Try loosening the lower two slotted screws on the WRD to simulate added shims to test your theory. The added spacing from loosening the screws, simulates added shims.

Probably not available and you make your own. Do you have one to use as a pattern? I used copper sheet and is easy to cut and punch out the holes.

The lean condition is only during warm-up. After warm-up it is slightly rich. I already took the BC out and replaced it with a bolt and a locknut.

How did you punch the holes? I can probably pull one shim to measure it.

@Radu,

Since you have taken the BC out of the equation, add an oval shim to enrichen fuel mixture for warm-up only.  Then use Knurl knob (idle mixture screw on IP) to lean out if need be when fully warm.

Radu, I looked at EPC, Niemoeller and SLS - code FI (forget it). At least I could not find them.

I looked at Bosch catalogue - they have spare parts list and found just the attached (I do not think it shows what you are after).

Thank you Pawel. I am sure the Bosch part numbers are 1 420 050 070, 1 and 2 for 0.3, 0.1 and 0.5 mm from your pdf on page 17. Now the problem is to find them. The Bosch website calls one discontinued and the others are not recognized.

What if you just copy the number and paste it in Google? This is what you get:

This part is called Sealing plate in one of the Polish spare parts store and by this guys from the link.
It was discontinued February 2016. I am sure some Bosch dealers and FIP guys will have it...

Ok, so the way you read these drawings is that he shim number refers to part/assembly number even if the shim itslef is not drawn on the picture... learning every day..
