Hello Pagoda SL Group,
I'm interested to buy a 280SL standard shift, tan leather with beige color steering wheel.
I live in Texas, however I'm currently in Miami till January 30th ....in case some car like that is in south Florida.
Best rgds,
Jose

So you want a car of any color, with tan leather, and you want an Ivory steering wheel? Steering wheel is an easy swap.
-
Hi Scott,
Well....it has to be standard shift (manual speed ) .....my body preferred color is gold (not copper)..........however I can handle other non dark colors.
If steering wheel is that easy ....How easy is to find it ?
Thks for respond,
Jose

Steering wheel is easy but may set you back $800 or so. So if you want an ivory one then that's easy to change. Finding a gold car is a long shot but might happen. Finding manual transmission isn't that difficult. Does it need to be a 280 SL or would a 250 or 230 also be fine? So far it seems like you aren't looking for a needle in a haystack like some people are.

Thanks for your valuable advise Scott.........I keep looking the market.

Its a pity that someone has gone to all the trouble of making a reproduction steering wheel and then not doing it to the correct size.

Not to take anything away from the manufacturer but if I wanted a smaller wheel I would buy a Nardi or a racing wheel or something else. A smaller original wheel just looks weird. But that's me.

Really late respond, but for what it is worth:
I have the car the OP is looking for, just not a manual, but automatic.
There was no 'gold" color but two metallic paints that seem "gold" : Tunis Beige and Sandy Beige. The interior is called "Parchment". I have a Sandy Beige car according to the original data card. When I was still in Germany, I heard the color being called "Champagne Metallic". Don't know what the original German color name was. Unlikely it was "Sandy Beige". Not a German term.

Just a question, out of curiosity: Why do you want a manual shift?
Biggest downside of a manual is the major wear part in that set-up - the clutch. It will have to be replaced long before you should have any trouble with any part in an automatic transmission.

There is/was a gold-color one on Bring a Trailer.
