I'm looking for a used 250SL rad. Condition not that important as long as the tanks and side brackets are in good condition. I can have it re-cored but would also look at one that was ready to go.
-
I have 230sl 4sp rad, not sure if the same?
-
Not the same. Each model has a different rad.
-
I had 4 räder for sale...they were alloys, but they are sold now. ??? :P
-
Mike..... :D ;D 8)
rad and Räder ...
That was a good one from you. :D
Well...., I think this is not what would please here our Benz Dr.
He is looking for a rad(iator) for the 250 SL, not for wheels/rims (rad = Rad = German term for wheel/rim).
:D 8)
All best,
Achim
(looking for a 280 stick shift rad(iator))

It was a "tongue-in-cheek" remark. ;D I had an idea what Dr Benz was looking for 8)
Some times the language the professionals in forums use is hard to figure out for the not-so-involved.
Years ago, I was in a motorcycle forum and a guy complains about problems with his "mag". I had no idea what he was talking about until much later.
-
He would have been talking about his ignition system. Very familiar with mags used on old tractors and stationary gas engines.
In the mean time; still needing a 250SL radiator.
-
Have you tried Eurocars in Madison,WI.....I know that he has at least one 250SL?

I did. He doesn't have one.

This is currently on EBAY in the San Francisco Bay area. It's listed for $1,000.
New old stock Behr radiator for a 250SL with automatic transmission.
Could be used with a manual gearbox as well.
Still in original box.
Part number: 113-500-11-03
Discontinued by Mercedes-Benz
Last factory price was $5,100.

Thanks for the info. I think I found one locally for about the same amount and probably less. This one has been rebuilt but I know the vendor and the exact price.
-
$5,100 for a radiator? Yikes!
-
They're considerably less in Canada - like 25% of that price. I found one at any rate.
