Title: Subframe Mounts
Post by: Harry on May 02, 2019, 16:39:49
I've been researching the good material on the site regarding replacement of these mounts and I will probably order mine today.  I have the engine and tranny out so the engine compartment is wide open, with no weight on the subframe.

I expect this to be a straightforward job since I have this accessibility advantage but I have seen a few posts on alignment of the mount?  That surprises me a bit since it appears that the mount should fit within the cone on the subframe and simply bolt into position.

I must be missing something?

Thanks,
Harry

Make sure you'll get MB sub frame mounts. As reported by members here, the aftermarket mounts will not last long and you have to replace them again in a couple of years.

I have used Febi Bilstein on several cars and they have been great. I have never had alignment issues, you can use a flashlight and line the bolt holes up from the top in the engine compartment.

Hello guys, I’m also considering to replace the subframe mounts and engine mounts too. I think it’s easier to do all at once . Do you have an idea about how much a mechanic could charge for this work? Only for the labour .
Thank you
