Title: unknown fuel part
Post by: jpressick on May 05, 2019, 22:12:49
My 1967 250sl is leaking gas near the front of the gas tank.   The leak is coming from a part that is attached to the floor of the trunk and has three fuel pipes going into it and is separate from the gas tank.   I have taken the part out and apart which contains a spring about 5 inches long and 1 inch in diameter.  I don't know the name of the part but know the gasket is leaking.  I am trying to identify the part so a new gasket can be ordered.  Any help would be appreciated.

That sounds like it's the brake force regulator. Your leak would be brake fluid.

Yes, sounds like a brake valve.

If you took your brake force regulator apart you might want to consider sending it off to be rebuilt.  Brake parts fail when you need them the most.  I am pretty sure these guys rebuild them.
