Title: Pictures of Engine and Transmission
Post by: Harry on February 07, 2020, 02:37:46
I am going to mount the transmission (automatic) to the engine this weekend, and hopefully get the unit in the car.  You have the transmission, the spacer plate (aluminum) and the engine.  I'm wrestling with the bolts.  The upper two go through the transmission and spacer plate, then thread into the block.  Then there are the two that secure the starter and thread into the starter flange.  Two more go through the "wings" on the oil pan and appear to require a nut on the ends.  (There is no threaded hole that they go into.  Then there is another bolt the looks like it goes through the transmission and spacer plate only.

I have myself confused a bit.  Does anyone have some pictures that show the assembled unit (engine with transmission)?  That would be very helpful.

Thanks,
Harry

Here is one of the engine and transmission connected for my 230sl, I unfortunately don’t have one from the other side or below.

Hi,
maybe this picture helps too because you can "see" holes and threads.
