Title: Engine mounts
Post by: mauro12 on October 25, 2020, 11:46:57
Hello guys, since I want to replace the engine mounts in my car, I have a question for you.
I want to buy oem mounts but I noticed that some websites like mb classic de have on stock 2 different oem mounts. 1 with a red dot (1802231012) for the right side and another for the left side with no dot ( 1802230912).
In others website like dbdepot they indicate that the right mount for the w113 must have 2 dots and the correct oem number is 1802231012 and they say that this mount is the same for the left and the right side.
Which one is the correct set to buy? 2 red dots and the same mount for the left and right side?
I hope is clear. Thank you
Mauro

I strongly suggest you buy them direct from Mercedes.

Yes they are (now). I bought them as a kit from the classic center recently and they confirmed that the replacement kit has identical mounts.

My mounts look complitly shot. The color of the mount is grey, probably they are still the original . Luckily I have never experienced any noise from the front end.
What is the first improvement that you notice after replacing the mounts?

Sometimes they just deteriorate and collapse. Unseen, you have metal to metal contact under the mount when this happens. You will feel some increase in engine and road vibrations when this happens. Replace one side at a time. Some additional work access, is gained by removing the front wheels and working through the wheel well openings.
