Just had to comment.
This is a gorgeous weekend in NE Ohio (we relish the few we get). I was able to get the SL out of hibernation. I changed the oil, and did the chassis lube.
While out for a drive, it was fun to see the glances and looks, especially from the group in a red CLK 430 cabriolet. Great stuff!
Also, the car just cranked right over and fired up on the first try.
I have a list of items for my faithful mechanic, but I am hopeful that most of the stuff will be the routine kind of thing.

We are a little north of you, near Ottawa Ont. but had the same weather I guess and I couldn't wait any longer either. It was only 12C or 53F so we had to get our coats, gloves and hats on, but what a thrill to start the season in April. Got some looks, though I think they were more of dis-belief that anyone would be fool enough to be out in a convertible while there is still snow around...maybe it was just envy. Had to clean the plugs up though, as I have only started it all winter to move it out of the garage when working on other cars and it wasn't running on all 6. They were pretty sooty, these cars don't like to sit around and idle much, but it ran great after...worth the wait

I think I'm pretty much due north of you in Ohio. It was T shirt weather here today and very clear and sunny. I thought about getting the Red Rocket out but I still have this strange noise in the engine so I'm going to look at that first.
I had to make due with a 190SL instead. One of the perks of the job I suppose.
Very busy in the shop right now. We're working on 4 different 190SL's, a 220S fin car, 1967 250S, 1959 220S Cab.,1960 220SE Cab. and a number of other smaller projects.
I think Richard ( Ricardo ) is coming to see us all of next week to put up some shelves in the parts barns and shop.
It takes a lot of room to store all these parts from cars we work on. Sometimes we have to store pthings for a few years on really big projects and storage space is at a premium.
We have lots of room, but we also have a lot of things around here. Probably several thousand pieces of used MB parts. My goal this year is to get all this stuff sorted out into basic lots of parts.
Starters, windshield wipers with motors, carbs, sheet metal, trans parts, engines, brake parts, engine parts and all these other things.
This could take a while I think....

Actually I do think swapping out the Crane unit for a Dr.Dan rebuilt distributor was one of the best improvements I've made, not to mention the piece of mind, knowing that I can deal with ignition problems with a new set of points....or as Dan put it " so when your Crane (or other) module fails on the side of the road, what you gonna do?"
Ah yes... a week in sunny southern Ontario...I think I'll bring my hipwaders for all that gooey gumbo, they call farmland :D
