Title: Injectors
Post by: MarkCan on July 05, 2021, 22:15:34
Just checking for now but I would be interested in a set of 6 good used injectors.
What should one expect to pay for a decent set?

Mark, I would not go this avenue. Specially knowing how thorough you are on other topics.

I think I paid around USD100 per piece. Buy from the shop where you can return them - it is likely half of those you buy will be faulty.

Mercedes is also a source, but with the premium.

No matter how I slice it I’ll need 2 sets of 6 injectors.
One new, one could be second hand. The 280 engine that I bought as a possible replacement for the pagoda is already in the tuning stages while the original 230 engine is in pieces. 230 will definitely get the new set, 280 just needs a good set.

I had a 280SL that I had all of the injectors cleaned & tested, 2 of them failed while 4 tested good.

I bought 2 from here

They are Bosch and worked great.

That's a good price for these injectors. Although it seems the quality control is poor to say the least, based on Pawel's experience.

A fair price for a good set used (but 'good' confirmed by actual tests of each injector) to me would be at maybe 30-35% of the new cost, so around $40 each = $240 for a set.
