I am working on an early 230SL, engine # 127 981 10 002121, 4 main bearing engine. There is a baffle plate that goes between the #1 and #2 main bearing, just below the oil pump and above the lower oil pan. It has 3 bolts, 2 on the #1 main bearing cap, the 3rd bolts to the #2 main journal cap. I am missing this plate. Does anyone have one they would sell, or do I need it at all? The only purpose I can see it either to strenghten the 4 main bearing engine, or absorb the harmonics a 4 main bearing inline 6 cylinder produces? I can be reached at my email, or 303 656 6636.
