Title: Hood/bonnet spring attachment points
Post by: getsmart on September 23, 2021, 07:17:28
My bonnet is missing the spring plate on the right hand side so I'm about to try and make me a new one but I have a couple of questions.

1. Do the plate attachment holes look like they are in the original position ? As they are different to the left hand side
2. And is the right side attachment plate identical to the left side? As in the hole for the spring as well the plate attachment holes

See attached pics.....the photo with the plate missing is the one in question, which is the 2nd/bottom photo

Rgds,

Joe

I think these brackets are available, why would you make a new one?

The holes on the right are pretty much opposite the left side. You may just need a couple of threaded bushings if the threads are gone.

Thanks Pawel,

Making one will take me an hour or 2 whilst buying one from overseas will take forever to get here and cost me plus it's fun to fabricate!!!

Of course. It would just look different... could be it is there at Authentic or Bud's.

Certainly your call :).

Managed to fabricate a new support plate with 4mm screws tapped/added. Screw heads might need a small grind but now ready for paint!!!
