Wilmington Delaware
Still in the car in my driveway under cover today September 23, 2021
I believe one check valve is bad in the injection pump.
I tested compression and people commented that it is very good, and I can post those numbers that I probably posted on Benzworld or peach parts.
I got the motor running for maybe a minute (30 seconds on a few occasions) with a fuel bottle and short pump (or possibly it was the tall pump I’ve got) in the engine bay probably back in April.
I was going to keep the motor in case I wanted it for my 250se 4-speed project car which is in the garage. The motor will come out of the rotted 1969 280se parts car sooner or later. I need to reclaim my driveway space. If someone wants the whole w108, that works for me.
Currently starting high with the asking price of….
$2800
Never offended by a lowball offer.
That includes the whole car including the injection pump, transmission, rear end, etc. heck, I will even throw in a working fuel pump at that number. Oh, dog dish Steelies are on it too. Oh, I think it also has a chip-free w108 windshield too. That might be something I actually want.

If it has the early sixteen bolt oil pan transmission (same as pogoda) it might be much easier to sell, or at least a standard transmission?

I assume the internals of the transmission are burnt up, but I can check. The VIN of the parts car is:
108.018.12.034536
Would that tell you if it should have the transmission?
Do you guys know if there’s much benefit to keeping this engine in the car (other than it fitting in there nicely while I still have the car).

A running 280sl project owner came by today and offered me $750 for the car and agreed to pay an additional $300 for the injection pump in the car that belongs to cth350
So I believe this engine is sold unless something changes in the next few hours.
